Kirsty Murray has written a moving, compelling story about unimaginable courage and determination of the Irish in their time of heartache and horror. Bridie, a passionate young girl suffers the loss of her whole family which has been her object of idealisation. She must muster up all of her will power to outlast the famine and keep her younger brother alive.
While reading this book it is hard not to let go of your emotions. ‘Bridie’s Fire’ id so well written it’s hard to put it down. Every detail has been included by Kirsty Murray to ensure you are living inside the book with her characters. The book is moving and written excellently.
